What are your thoughts on freedom after reading the Allies Briefings?

The Allies had little time and only a certain number of briefings to express what they felt we needed to hear regarding the extraterrestrial presence, life in the Universe, and the importance of freedom.
The Allies say, "It's all about freedom:our freedom, your freedom." In their own homeworlds they nearly lost their freedom and had to somehow re-establish it.
The briefings help us realize how much we take freedom for granted, how we assume it will always be there. In this land of plenty we've been encouraged to feel free, but it's not real. Absolutely everything we hold dear could be lost. Freedom is a very precious thing.
Much of the freedom we think we have is illusory. We think that while bodies can be imprisoned, minds can exist in their own domain. The Allies say that not only was that never true in the Mental Environment, but the loss of freedom that we face is the freedom to develop our minds to pursue and develop Knowledge within ourselves.
What is our freedom for? True freedom is to pursue and follow Knowledge. Freedom is the freedom to keep Knowledge alive throughout life, to allow it to do its work through us.
Knowledge is as rare in the Universe as it is here. We're trying to cultivate something that is surrounded by its opposition.
Freedom scarcely exists. So much of what we believe is freedom is not real.
When we learn to follow Knowledge, we are phenomenally restrained to just following inner guidance. Now we have so many so-called freedoms that are distractions from Knowledge.
Freedom is being eroded on every level. Spiritual freedom is the most important. It means being free from the burden of our beliefs, ideals, ideas of self. People who think they're free to come and go and do as they please are really not free. The greatest freedom is from the hell of our own minds.
In the U.S. we have notions of what freedom is. The iconic cliché is Easy Rider:ride bikes across the country, sleep out under the stars, go where you want when you want. But in the Allies briefings there is a huge teaching about restraint. Being in this Universe, one must be discreet—particularly if one gains power. We read frequent references to unity and social cohesion, the need for it in the face of the Greater Community—which requires restraint of individual freedom. It's not freedom to be chaotic.
We need to remember that there would be far less freedom under the Intervention. It would be a grey, grim prison world. To lose a planet's freedom is a very big thing. It would be a loss in the Universe, not just to us. The Intervention means total control.
Freedom is being also manipulated by what the media is feeding us, attracting us to things that could take away our freedom. Listening to abduction stories, we can see that abductees are manipulated, that their minds are not their own, that their lives are not their own.
If the wise remain hidden, are they really free? Why do they have to hide? This can't be answered. "The wise remain hidden" is like an oxymoron. "Hidden" means remaining discrete, careful, using wisdom about where they go and who they speak to (translators of the New Message are having difficulty with this word). The Allies were free to communicate what they observed, but chose to give their message only to someone who is discrete, reserved, and wise enough to know how to handle the message. The whole thing was protected. It's for protection, not cringing in a corner. The wise remain hidden unless they're called upon by Knowledge. The Allies were hidden, until they were discovered by the Intervention. Perhaps it's necessary for the wise to remain hidden now. Later, Knowledge will be stronger in the world than the lack of it is.

Freedom is a scarce commodity.
The Allies offer us a view of how societies function in the Greater Community. They indicate how little freedom many of them have, even though they may be technologically advanced. They show us how freedom is looked upon by other races in the Greater Community. To many of them our freedom on Earth seems to be so great that it is overwhelming and makes us chaotic. They think that we need to be put in order. That is why they have come here to save us, or so they think.
At the same time, while we pride ourselves on our so-called freedom, one can discern just how little of it we actually have. The word "freedom" has become an advertising slogan, with no essence. For instance, you have the freedom to drink coca cola (big deal). We, humanity of Earth, are only at the beginning stages of building freedom here. We need to build a whole lot more before we can express and live the Great Presence that resides in us, and that we so dearly and deeply yearn to experience.
The Allies briefings show us the lack of freedom in the Greater Community and our need to protect and build our own freedom.
Life cannot exist without freedom.

After I found the Allies material years ago, I started reading Wisdom (Vol I) as well. In the chapter on Freedom I read this:"...the greater the Knowledge, the greater the power and the less the personal freedom."
I thought this conflicted with what I read in the Allies, and with what I believed personally (see Easy Rider note above). It took awhile to understand the meaning behind this statement.
Less freedom? More power, less freedom? That doesn’t make sense. Okay...
The wiser I get, the narrower my path.
There are fewer acceptable choices. Fewer directions to take.
I have new priorities, and not just any path will take me there.
Complete freedom - the way most people think - is total lack of responsibility, commitment, rules, obligations, restrictions.
Obviously, the Intervention doesn’t care if we are "free" to mindlessly sit before the television, awash in fantasy and the illusion of freedom, "free" to consume ourselves into energy depletion, war and oblivion so they can "rescue" us from ourselves
I’m now beginning to see freedom as a lack of oppression and manipulation, so I am free to respond, to be able to follow Knowledge where it leads me.
I used to see freedom as being able to do what I like. Now I see freedom as being able to do what I must.
And the Intervention would try and destroy that freedom.

It is fragile, and in danger.
From Quynh in France
Freedom is the most precious gift for intelligent beings in the Universe.
Freedom of the mind allows evolved beings to pursuit Knowledge and to be its vehicle of expression. Freedom is highly valued because without it, we cannot have enough space and time to strive ourselves towards Knowledge, this inner guidance system within us which can save us from dangers and manipulations.
Because of our small perspective, we think that to do whatever we want is to be free. But we never deeply question the values of our pursuits and their source.
Freedom is necessary and it is not granted in a competitive physical universe where races try to subdue others races to their will. We are unaware of the existence of the mental environment, and that makes us very vulnerable as a race.
The Allies give us a warning and a calling for us to wake up from our isolated state, to gain and protect our freedom as a race in this Earth. Steps to Knowledge is the answer and the preparation.
From Gerardo in Puerto Rico
After reading the Allies briefings, the word freedom became very important.
It is important to note the freedom that the Allies are speaking of is not the freedom humanity wants, like having the freedom to wage war, the freedom to destroy the world's resources, the freedom to contribute to global warming, being chaotic, etc.
The freedom the Allies are talking about is to follow a deeper intelligence that can work through people to ensure the advancement and survival of our race, the freedom to share the resources of the world, to live a long sustainable life and to be able to be a free, independence and cohesive world community inside a community of worlds, the freedom from foreign powers and the freedom to have the courage to become One World Community in the Greater Community.
From Bev in Canada
There is no greater freedom in life than the possession of the finely tuned skills of discernment and discretion. These abilities, which we all possess, when developed into strong skills open the door to seeing, knowing and understanding manipulation, persuasion, influence and nogotiation in every human transaction taking place within our world, society and our own personal environments.
Not just accepting what occurs around me but agreeing to wonder about that and examine it in all its details is truly to possess the strongest sense of internal security we could possibly live with or from, in our lives.
This is true freedom to self-independence, to good judgement in life and the ability to disarm subtle complex maneuvers against the reality of one's life, not just physically but mentally and spiritually.
From Spencer in Michigan
"Here you must gain great confidence in the inherent goodness of humanity and recognize the real value of your freedom. You have never been challenged like this before. Your freedom has never been challenged as a race, as a people, as a world like this before. Yet everyone in the world can at least value the possibility of freedom and whatever freedom they may have at this moment. It is all at risk now."
"We must then speak to those people who are ready and able to respond. There is no other problem or dilemma in your life as critical as this. Anything that you establish on your own behalf for your nation, for your group, for your culture or your religious tradition will be lost in the face of the Intervention. You do not want to be part of a Collective. You must trust us in this regard and consider our words seriously. There is no freedom there. You will become nothing but servants bonded to your new masters. And though those of you who represent your masters will have certain privileges, you will all be enslaved."

Freedom can mean so many things to so many people, all of which undoubtedly have worth and represent truth individually.
In the context of the Greater Community, freedom offers the means to rid ourselves of the illusion of this world and to gain perspective as to its actual reality and our place in it.
Freedom offers the opportunity of knowledge, not as an acquisition but as a gift. The ability to access this knowledge exists as the essence of the Creator within each and and every of us and is that which portends a monumental and profound benefit for mankind. This most assuredly is freedom.

What is the connection between the spirituality of Steps to Knowledge and the reality of the Allies' message?
The Allies are trying to keep Knowledge alive on this planet. Steps to Knowledge is a process for studying and awakening Knowledge in the individual, a preparation for the presence of Knowledge.
Steps is the answer, and the Allies briefings show us the problem. The answer was given before the problem was presented. It is a spiritual answer to a material problem. Without the perspective of Knowledge, we would be left with fear and hopelessness, wondering how mere humans could possibly stop the onslaught.
The Allies message can "scare" you into doing Steps! It's not about just the immediate danger, but the potential relationship with life "out there" that is important. The Allies Briefings have tremendous shock value. They are the catalyst for Knowledge to take a quantum leap on the earth.
It’s helpful to remember that the Allies themselves are fellow students of Knowledge. We have a spiritual connection with them.
The destiny that humanity needs to serve in the Greater Community is one of contributing Knowledge to the larger environment. Knowledge is our contribution, the prize of successfully repelling the Intervention. Knowledge is the gift that humanity has to give to the Greater Community, to be a force for good.

For me, Steps to Knowledge is a type of Raja Yoga, union with the Universe/God/oneself, Yoga for the mind. Yoga is timeless, spaceless; it is the means to the return to God from the initial separation. The Steps help us connect to Knowledge/Spirit and thereby to reality. Thus they also help us connect to the Allies and discern the reality of their message, which can seem so far away and unreal in relation to our everyday life. The Steps reinforce our Mental Environment and thereby are a tool to protect us from the persuasion which is being exercised by the Intervention. They can helps us offset it and even repel it, because the main arena of the struggle is the Mental Environment. The affirmations and the exercises presented in Steps to Knowledge offer us a way to reconnect to the truth, to dimensions of our existence that the Intervention does not want us to be aware of. Those intervening are unaware of the reality of Knowledge/Spirit in the individual. Here is the key to the solution of the problem. From Maureen in Colorado
"We speak of Knowledge because it is your greatest ability. Regardless of what technology you can develop over time, Knowledge is your greatest promise. You are far behind the visitors in your technological development, so you must rely upon Knowledge. It is the greatest force in the universe, and your visitors do not use it. It is your only hope. That is why the Teaching in Greater Community Spirituality teaches The Way of Knowledge, provides the Steps to Knowledge and teaches Greater Community Wisdom and Insight. Without this preparation, you would not have the skill or the perspective to understand your dilemma or to respond to it effectively. It is too big. It is too new. And you are not adapted to these new circumstances."Allies I pp. 81-82
